The Stupidly Small Floor

Shrink the floor of any habit until it cannot fail. One pushup, one sentence, one page. Let consistency do the work willpower cannot.

The Promise

Shrink the floor of any habit until it cannot fail. One pushup, one sentence, one page. Let consistency do the work willpower cannot.

How It Works

  • Shrink to stupidly small. The floor is what you will do on your worst day: sick, overloaded, low motivation. The shrinkage continues until you cannot justify skipping.
  • Hit the floor every day. Consistency is the mechanism, not volume.
  • Let scope creep happen naturally. Most days you will do more than the floor. The floor is the contract; everything above it is bonus. Do not make the bonus the new floor.

In Practice

Ambitious daily targets fail because they require negotiating with willpower every day. A floor small enough to be non-negotiable changes the question from "am I doing this?" to "how much am I doing today?" The identity install comes from the consistency, not from the volume of any single session.
